Shenghua Gao is currently the VDI Center Director and the Deputy director of Resource Management Committee.

Shenghua Gao is a tenured professor at ShanghaiTech University, China. He received his B.E. degree from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2008 and his Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological University in 2012. Between June 2012 and August 2014, he served as a research scientist at UIUC Advanced Digital Sciences Center in Singapore. He joined in ShanghaiTech University in 2014. His recent research interests include 3D reconstruction, image generation, and video understanding. He has published over 120 technical papers with a total citation of 13,000 times. He has been awarded the Microsoft Research Fellowship, ACM Shanghai Young Research Scientist, Shanghai Excellent Academic Leader, and National Young Talents. He has served as an area chair for many AI conferences, including NeurIPS, CVPR, ICCV, IJCAI, and AAAI, for more than 10 times. Additionally, he has organized more than 10 workshops affiliated with CVPR, ICCV, and ECCV. He has also served as an Associate Editor for IEEE TPAMI， IEEE TCSVT and Neurocomputing.
