
Dr. Xiaopei Liu received his Ph.D. in computer science and engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2010, and then worked as a postdoctoral Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. After that, he joined the School of Information Science and Technology of ShanghaiTech University in June 2015 as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. His current research interests include multidisciplinary fields such as computer graphics, computational fluid dynamics, scientific visualization, machine learning, unmanned aerial vehicle design and autonomous navigation, as well as GPU-based high-performance parallel computing. He also actively explores applications of the related research to the areas of fast computer aided design and engineering (for the design of airplanes and cars, etc.), special effects in movies, intelligent medical diagnosis, virtual robot training, as well as the application for fundamental scientific research. His publications cover different fields, which include ACM SIGGRAPH/SIGGRAPH Asia, ACM Transactions on Graphics, IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, AIP Physics of Fluids, and APS Physical Review D, etc.
