Junrui Liang is currently the CiPES Director, the Resource Management Committee Director and the Deputy director of EHS Committee.

Dr. Junrui Liang is an assistant professor at Shanghaitech University, China. He has received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in Instrument Science and Technology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical and Automation Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Liang is an Associate Editor of the SCI-indexed journal IET Circuits, Devices & Systems since 2018. He is a member of the Technical Committee of Power and Energy Circuits and Systems in IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and the Energy Harvesting Technical Committee in the ASME Aerospace Division. He is also the General Chair of the 2nd International Conference on Vibration and Energy Harvesting Applications (VEH 2019). Dr. Liang’s research interests include energy conversion and power electronics, kinetic energy harvesting and vibration control, mechatronics, and Smart IoT devices. As of March 2019, his research has led to the publications of over 90 technical papers in international journals and conference proceedings and four China patent applications. Dr. Liang is a recipient of Best Student Contributions Award in the 19th International Conference on Adaptive Structures and Technologies; two Best Paper Awards in the IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation in 2009 and 2010; the 2010 Postgraduate Research Output Award from The Chinese University of Hong Kong; and the 2018 Research Excellence Award from the School of Information Science and Technology, ShanghaitehUniversity. He has supervised students and got Excellent Final Year Project (FYP) Supervisor from Tongji University, Second Runner-up in b2019 IEEE Industrial Society (IES) Inter-Chapter Paper Competition, Best Student Hardware Finalist in ASME Smart Materials, Adaptive Structures, and Intelligent Systems Conference (SMASIS), and two Third Awards in 2018 and 2020 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition at ShanghaiTech University.
