Dr. Ying CAO received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from City University of Hong Kong, and obtained the Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Software Engineering from Northeastern University (China). He was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Computer Science at City University of Hong Kong, a lead research scientist at Alvanon (Hong Kong), leading research on AI for 3D design and content generation, and a senior researcher at Tencent, working on AI for content creation. His research generally lies in Computer Graphics and Computer Vision. His particular research interest is Data-driven Design Intelligence, which studies how computers can learn design intelligence (i.e., the capabilities of machines to perceive, understand and create designs) from data, and augment humans in the design process, His research works have been published at top-tier conferences and journals for computer graphics and computer vision, including SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH Asia, CVPR, ACM TOG, IJCV, IEEE TPAMI.
