Dr. Baile Chen received his B.S. degree in physics from the Department of Modern Physics at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2007. He earned Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, USA, in 2013.

In February 2013, he joined Qorvo Inc. (Oregon) as an RF product development engineer, where he worked on various RF power amplifiers and bulk acoustic wave (BAW) filters for wireless communication systems. In January 2016, he joined the School of Information Science and Technology at ShanghaiTech University, where he is currently a tenured Full Professor.

Dr. Chen is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He has published over 70 journal papers as the first or corresponding author. His research interests include III-V semiconductor materials and devices, SWIR/MWIR photodiodes, high-speed/high-power photodiodes, UV photodiodes, and silicon photonics.
