Abstract:

This lecture talk is an introduction to phased array aiming at introducing basic principles and commonly used terminologies of phased array to beginners. Radiation patterns of both narrow-band and wide-band arrays are derived from first principle. Finally, the relationship between radiation pattern of an array and the frequency response of a digital filter is derived for the benefit of those who are already familiar with digital filter design.
