Renewable Energy System is a new graduate course offered in the fallsemester of 2015. As a supplement to this course, the school has organized afield trip to a local sino-foreign wind power company, Shanghai Electric WindEnergy Co. Ltd / Siemens Wind Power Turbines (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Thanks to theguidance of Yi Zhang, an engineer of the company, the visitors have listened tothe state of the art of wind power industry in China, as well as the history ofthe company. After the introduction, they were guided to visit the assemblyworkshop of 2.5 MW / 4 MW wind turbines. Finally, they have a close look at thetesting wind farm on the shore of East China Sea. The field trip has offeredthe students an immediate and memorable impression on renewable energy system andlocal wind power industry.
