  • Broadly interested in wireless communications and networking, stochastic geometry, queueing theory, semidefinite programming, stochastic optimization, and game theory. 

  • Specific research interests include non-orthogonal multiple access, Internet of Things, millimeter wave, full-duplex relaying, software-defined wireless networking, cloud radio access networks, interference characterization, network slicing, 5G heterogeneous cellular networks. 


Yong Zhou received the B.Sc. and M.Eng. degrees from Shandong University, Jinan, China, in 2008 and 2011, respectively, and the PhD degree from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada, in 2015, all in electrical engineering. From 2015 to 2017, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada. In 2018, he joined the School of Information Science and Technology at ShanghaiTech University, where he is currently an assistant professor. His research areas include wireless communications and networking and Internet of Things (IoT). He has served as a technical program committee (TPC) member of several International conferences.
