Abstract: 
Interfacing power electronics converters are increasingly used to connect renewable energy resources to distribution systems. In this seminar, the wide frequency range resonance in a power electronics based power distribution system is investigated. In addition, a virtual impedance control method is used to mitigate harmonics in this power distribution system. Finally, the concept of multi-functional DG system is presented in order to realize flexible active power conditioning using DG interfacing converters.

Biography:  
Jinwei He received a B.Sc from Southeast University, China, a M.Sc from the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Ph.D from the University of Alberta, Canada, all in Electrical Engineering.

From 2013 to 2015, He worked as a senior power electronics engineer at Accu-energy Canada, where he was responsible for high power grid-tied converter product design. In Sep. 2015, Dr. He joined Tianjin University, China, where he currently is a Professor. His research interests are power electronics for microgrid, distributed power generation, and HVDCs.
