Youyi is an Assistant Professor, PI at School of Information Science and Technology, ShanghaiTech. Prior to that, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at the Department of Computer Science, Yale University. Youyi received his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, in 2011. He received his Bachelor and Master's degree in Mathematics, both from Zhejiang University. He was also a Postdoctoral Fellow at KAUST from 2011 to 2013.

Youyi's research interests are in Computer Graphics, with a focus on Geometric Modeling, Imaging, and Human Computer Interaction. He has been a research intern at Oregon State University (OSU) in 2011 and a visiting researcher at University College London (UCL) in 2013 and 2015. He has been a program committee member for two international conferences and a technical paper reviewer for a number of conferences and journals including ACM SIGGRAPH, Eurographics, IEEE TVCG, and IEEE Multimedia, etc.
